Pres Trump says he will "override the governors" if they don't follow new CDC guidance and open places of worship this weekend. Context: The 10th Amendment of the Constitution says powers not delegated to federal government are reserved to the states. https://t.co/CmTrFY4HVB

The 10th Amendment prohibits trump from overriding Governors' decisions on opening churches. POINTS to the Founding Fathers.

To be clear, Trump can't do shit to force churches/temples/mosques to open. Little thing called the 10th Amendment

Referencing "liquor stores and abortion clinics" Trump declares churches and houses of worship as "essential businesses" and must open "right now." He then notes if the governors don't agree “I will override the governors." The 10th Amendment is not a suggestion.

Right now Trump’s handlers are trying to explain to him what the 10th Amendment is, and Trump is screaming “What do you mean there are ten amendments?”

I’m sorry, but Trump can’t do shit to open churches, not without violating the 10th Amendment. Not sure why you’d want churches open anyway, it’s not like the flying sky wizard has been any help throughout the pandemic.

Per the recent Press Conference, Trump says places of worship are "essential" and must immediately open and he says he'll override governors if they resist. If he tries to reverse the police power of governors during an emergency, it will categorically violate the 10th Amendment.

I’m a lifelong Christian but would like to point out that the 10th amendment prevents @realDonaldTrump from overriding governors and reopening churches prematurely. Every single day Trump makes a mockery of our faith.

Once again, someone needs to explain the 10th Amendment to the "president."

First Amendment trumps 10th Amendment. Feds can enforce civil rights. A little thing called the Civil War established that. https://t.co/kx7MPxDepA

Pres Trump just said he will "override the governors" on opening places of worship this weekend. The 10th Amendment prevents the president from overriding Governors' state decisions on this

Since Trump is threatening to circumvent the 10th Amendment in order to overrule governors’ choices to keep church congregations limited, he should probably tell us which crowded church he will be attending this weekend. Oh that’s right, he never goes to church.

The 10th Amendment is trending because, once again, Syphiliphigus confused the Constitutions for some imaginary mandate that gives him absolute control over everything. He. Is. Powerless. To. Force. Governors. To. Open. A. Thing.
22 May, 07:41 PM UTC
@ClaraJeffery Ma'am, Trump did not say religious institutions MUST be open; he said they are "essential." Meaning, cannot be #shutdown by ANY gov. Forced closure of religious institutions/preventing anyone from worshiping is PROHIBITED by the FIRST AMENDMENT. 10th Amendment does not apply.

He doesn’t know about the 10th amendment does he? The President is the head of the federal Government. The executive. He has ZERO authority to override governors on what they do in their states! It’s up to Governors and Pastors! When they re-open! #TrumpDeathToll95K

He’s violating his sworn oath & the 10th Amendment Trump is the antithesis to everything JC said & did yet #Cult45 still believes him as he: —Routinely breaks all 10 commandments —Cheated on his 3 wives —Paid a porn star $130K hush money —Blasphemously said he’s the Chosen One https://t.co/qhly97TBYI

Republicans who care about the Supreme Court consider Justice Antonin Scalia's term their greatest achievement. He more to strengthen the 10th Amendment more than anyone else. Now, the 10th Amendment is a bar to Trump's plan to reopen churches against state public health orders

Donald tRump. The only US president* to attempt to violate the 10th Amendment and separation of church and state at the same time! BONUS: He's leading his followers to slaughter! Thanks to the Founding Fathers for adding the 10th Amendment to the Constitution way back when which prohibits the Executive Branch from overriding decisions made by Governors in their respective states. 😊

@PressSec @realDonaldTrump @CDCgov The "President" decided to supercede the 10th Amendment by claiming to override the states decision. You knew exactly what he said and treaded gently around that. Your job is to answer the questions for the American people , not propose propaganda. #GOPhuckyourself

@LogJ1776 the 10th amendment was designed to protect states from federal gov tyranny not to allow states to become tyrannical. The 10th amendment was never a free pass for states to do whatever they wanted and it is horrifying how many on the left and even right think that's what it meant

Seeing lots of citing tonight of the 10th Amendment prohibiting Trump from forcing states to open churches - When has Trump ever cared about the constitution or any law? What has the constitution or law stopped him from doing? Defy legal subpoenas? Declare fake emergencies?
23 May, 03:09 AM UTC
@PressSec @realDonaldTrump @CDCgov MmmHmmm. We got it. Trump’s violating his sworn oath to uphold the Constitution and rule of law. This time the 10th Amendment is being violated. The question is: When will churches not be tax exempt since they’re “essential” according to #Cult45 ? https://t.co/5IHxT8WYWd https://t.co/bHzaeHvxXC

If Trump has no power over the Governors because of the 10th Amendment, then the Governors have no power over the individual’s Rights to the rest of the Bill of Rights. The Constitution is the Supreme law of the land-regardless of “safety”.

All those, ahem, "Republicans," would be up in arms hearing the federal branch is threatening to usurp the 10th Amendment (withhold federal aide) to force them to open. But, we all know #maga are not true Republicans. Just fans of a game show host. https://t.co/bPBiW9SBrq

@ClaraJeffery To be clear, the 10th amendment states that any power not specifically given 2 the federal government by the Constitution belongs 2 the States & the people. Did u not read the word “people” in that sentence? Or do u just like 2 make yourself look like a dumbass on Twitter?
