Wednesday will be the 149th straight meeting in which one of North Carolina or Duke is ranked in the AP Poll.
The last time neither was ranked was Feb. 27, 1960. Dean Smith was an assistant for the Tar Heels, Mike Krzyzewski was 13 years old and Roy Williams was 9 years old.
Nevada is 6th in the new AP poll. The AP poll doesn't factor into the selection process. Over the past 10 years, though, no team ranked 6th or better in the final regular season poll was seeded lower than 4th:
Seed | #
1 - 35
2 - 18
3 - 3
4 - 4
5 or worse - 0
Another week, another record broken by @UBmenshoops! The #Bulls have been ranked in the @AP_Top25 poll for 15 consecutive weeks, setting the record for most weeks ranked in one season by a Big 4 program.
The new AP poll is out. Here’s the Top 5:
Kentucky’s win over Tennessee is viewed significant enough to drop the Vols from 1 to 5. Yet UK only goes up one spot, to No. 4. Interesting.
@ParkerKeith24 There's obvious bias in the AP Poll, and some of that is fair. Michigan has done significantly more over the last few years than we have, and that stays in voter's minds. At least point the only ranking I care about is the seeding on Selection Sunday.
