Bafta urgently needs to address why they chose to publicly honour Noel Clark apparently 13 days after first being made aware of allegations against him, and why they only announced Clarke's suspension + that they were investigating after the Guardian piece was published.

If we're on the topic of Noel Clarke, can we also address how the BAFTA's have overlooked serious allegations yet again? They knew about this and still awarded him. The industry needs to change. Ignoring is allowing.

Exclusive: The Guardian has spoken to 20 women who accuse the actor-producer Noel Clarke of sexual harassment, groping and bullying. Clarke, who received a Bafta this month, “vehemently” denies the allegations from all 20 of the women. https://t.co/T3drHVosN5

Actor Noel Clarke star of ITV thriller Viewpoint is revealed as a long-time sexual predator in allegations made by 20 women during an investigation by The Guardian. He's alleged to have held naked auditions. @BAFTA knew but still handed Clarke a big award 3 weeks ago. Shocking.

In the last few hours an actor has been suspended from BAFTA over sexual misconduct allegations and a Dutch MP has resigned over sexual misconduct allegations. Both, previously, had publicly argued that males who say they are women should be given full access to women's spaces https://t.co/08bFUhPUAA

So if the Guardian article had not come out, BAFTA would not be suspending his award or membership...that’s what I’m understanding. That is exactly why it’s so hard for victims to come forward. Some already had, and he was given a BAFTA.

“In light of the Guardian’s piece...” Twenty women have the courage to come forward and say “this guy is a predator” but @BAFTA didn’t care until the press covered it. Shame on you. https://t.co/cCzjhyRo3S

Have thought about this tweet throughout awards season. Knowing this made watching everyone slapping each other’s backs about the ‘reformed’ nominations pretty tiring. It’s also the reason why the news that BAFTA knew is wholly unsurprising. https://t.co/P558xyIcyS

BAFTA TV nominations have been announced and its great to see a bunch of shows that we’ve worked with. The 10 shows have between them gathered a whopping 34 nominations, 22 of those being part of Craft where we recognise the names of some fantastic editors 👏🏽 Good Luck to all 🤞🏼 https://t.co/03ho1slF1r

@telos32 They've called them "allegations" not proven facts so their reporting is good and not actionable. Also, they've done the groundwork. These aren't anonymous accusers. The allegations weren't reported to the papers in the first instance but to BAFTA.Proving them remains to be seen.
