Everton have agreed a deal to sign Arsenal and Nigeria winger Alex Iwobi for a fee in the region of £35-40m #EFC #AFC
Hearing Eddie Nketiah travelling to Leeds as we speak to pen season-long loan from Arsenal after #LUFC DoF Victor Orta made impressive late pitch to sell Bielsa vision & convince him to reject likes of Bristol City, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Swansea City #BristolCity #f95 #swansfc #afc
Really looking forward to seeing Eddie Nketiah having a full season in the Championship. Convinced he will do very well once he's settled in at Leeds. A year working with Bielsa should be a hell of a learning curve as well.
£40 million for Alex Iwobi? Arsenal need to rename their stadium to Raul Sanllehi Arena. That deal is unreal.
I’d have liked him to stay but this is a really good loan move for Eddie, and it’ll be interesting to see how he gets on under a coach like Bielsa.
Good luck to him! https://t.co/4a5EJzUPvR
1. Bielsa stayed
2. KP is staying
3. We've signed Helda Costa!
4. Ben White looks excellent
5. Nketiah looks very promising
6. We've met FFP demands
7. We looked really good on Sunday
Plenty to be happy about #lufc
Marcelo Bielsa on potential Leeds signing Eddie Nketiah: "He is a young, important player in English football. He's a player with a very good reputation with football people. He can be one of the important players in English football."
Marcelo Bielsa has his sixth signing of the summer window: Eddie Nketiah has joined Leeds United on loan from Arsenal.
Bielsa on Tyler Roberts: "Tyler is a very important player for us. He’s an offensive player with some very clear capabilities so we are missing him. We would like to have him now with us for two reasons - the football things but the most important thing is how he is as a human." https://t.co/wtAvr0Lgy3
💬 | "I'm excited to help the club achieve its goals" New signing @EddieNketiah9
chats to LUTV after making the move to #LUFC
Marcelo Bielsa called Pontus Jansson our “best player last season” and said FFP influenced his departure but there was much more to it than that.
The story of why Leeds United shook Brentford’s hand for a fee of £5.5m:
If it's true Orta went to London and did a personal pitch as to why Nketiah should join Leeds over Bristol City who have been after him for weeks and Bielsa's vision, then fucking fair play to him.
He get's a lot of unnecessary abuse when the team aren't doing well #lufc
Bielsa Stayed ✅
Phillips stayed ✅
Signed a striker after losing Kemar ✅
Signed Costa ✅
Replaced BPF ✅
Cleared some of the deadwood ✅
Now let’s talk about football not FFP, owners, transfers.
Loads to be positive about #Lufc
💬 | With our first home game of the season this Saturday, hear from Marcelo Bielsa now as he chats with the assembled media https://t.co/aRPxPxb4bM
Despite all the interest, speculation and reports this summer, Kalvin Phillips remains a Leeds United player under the stewardship of Marcelo Bielsa. That my friends is the club’s best set of business this summer. A new contract for Kalvin now would be the icing on the cake. https://t.co/3TLPjH84Yl
Transfer wise we have sold
A disruptive player ✅
Sold a striker in his last year of his contract for good money ✅
Sold an unproven winger but loaned back ✅
Sold a host of surplus to requirements ✅
Most importantly we’ve kept KP ✅
Second season under Bielsa ✅ #lufc
Part one of an interview I did earlier today with Angus Kinnear.
This is how Leeds United managed to beat the likes of Bristol City to the season-long loan signing of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
Part two of the Angus Kinnear interview.
Leeds United's summer plan was three fold; keep key players like Kalvin Phillips, add quality like Helder Costa and address Profit and Sustainability requirements.
They knocked back bids totalling £35m.
Leeds boss, Marcelo Bielsa: "Always in the Championship you have some important players like for example last year Abraham the striker at Aston Villa and Harry Wilson who came to Derby County from Liverpool. We think that Nketiah will have a similar feature in a similar scenario"
Solid 7/10 for this transfer window. Not everything it could have been, but Costa is an A-grade addition. More importantly, Bielsa is here and Bielsa is happy. #lufc
El negro Gamboa en @FOXSportsArg
El equipo de #Bielsa que marcó una época. #Newells
There’s no way we’d have kept Phillips, signed Costa, White and Nketiah and brought back Clarke & Harrison on loan without the best signing of our summer in Bielsa. Sensational work by Radz and Orta 👏🏻 #LUFC
