The #49ers' acquisition of Dee Ford obviously led to the release of Cassius Marsh, who was in the pass-rushing LEO role last year. SF also expected to add a pass rusher in the draft. Marsh has chance to join another squad.
The #49ers announced the release of DE Cassius Marsh, who accounted for 5.5 sacks and 14 quarterback hits last season. Marsh was due $5.1 million in 2019, none guaranteed.
The team also re-signed LB Mark Nzeocha (3 years) and DB Antone Exum Jr. (1 year).
@Bubbamarquez92@EvanSowards I don’t believe it at all Gabriel.. But if that is what the Raiders offered, what was Trent supposed to do?? It’s a business and things change quickly.. Just ask Cassius Marsh about that today..
@SeabassSaid@Tom__Pappalardo@AaronLemingNFL I dont think so bears want playmakers that can force interceptions. With that pass rush you can take more risks since a QB is likely going to have only 3 to 5 seconds to throw the ball. Cassius Marsh though is intriguing. 5.5 sacks last year for the 9ners and was cap cut
there's a part of me that thinks tweeting about backups the bears signed/should sign is a total waste of time and not really "for" anyone but then again, remember how smart that cre'von leblanc tweet was? anyway, i'd like the bears to sign cassius marsh
Add Cassius Marsh to this list of valuable edge rushers that won't cost us a comp pick. SF is so deep on the DL they can afford to let a guy go who had 5.5 sacks and 27 solo tackles in limited (550) snaps. (For comparison, Beasley had 5 sacks and 16 solo tackles on 701 snaps)
