#ChainReact2019 day 1 has been excellent! I’ve gotten the chance to chat with so many amazing people. Here are slides from my talk, if you’re interested:
I had so much fun speaking this morning at #ChainReact2019! I know a few of you have been asking about the slides, well I hope you're ready for an overload of cuteness, because here they are! 😁 https://t.co/TutAFu1k4W
Anyone interested in back to back Beers at Beer nights? Maybe this time literally at the bar Beer? If there’s some interest, let me know! #ChainReact2019
“Software is inherently social” - @joelafiosca
. What a good nugget from #ChainReact2019
Lorenzo (@kelset) is delivering a fantastic talk on open source sustainability. I see his hard work firsthand and also feel the burden of open source maintenance myself, so this rings true.
“Software is inherently social. I don’t have time to explain why, but talk to me later.” - @joelafiosca
I see what you did there! #ChainReact2019
.#ChainReact2019, need to dig into some native code? I brought more @bignerdranch
guides this year to give away! Keep an eye on Twitter tomorrow for a chance to win one on Kotlin or on Swift. https://t.co/qa1IOdZVNe
's talk was great insight into the open source/3rd party lib community for me as someone who consumes those libraries.
Two of his points really had an impact.
1. Resources are limited
2. Software is inherently social
And that’s a wrap for day one! Epic talks, laughed and learned a lot! Great job speakers 👍😄 #ChainReact2019
"I'm not a native developer, I'm a JS developer" - @LizTiller
Definitely related to that above quote. App vs web dev are totally diff beasts but with #reactnative it makes it easier to apply the same skillsets on those diff beasts.
's rough steps on how to migrate to TypeScript ⬇️
One of the reasons I'm interested in for TS is how much it'll help with refactoring.
If it can help with code readability and uderstanding, there's less risk during refactoring.
Attending my first ever conf, delving into React Native. What an awesome welcome to Portland 😄👍 #ChainReact2019 https://t.co/zqPVenKRon
Ken, our MC, warning folks not to lose their wallets... like I lost mine on bourbon street #ChainReact2019 https://t.co/NyOsk7MtUj
Listening to @trevorbrindlejs
makes me want to commit to open-sourcing more of my work. #2019goals #ChainReact2019
Next up: @trevorbrindlejs
. Best opening quote: "How many of you actually know everything that's running on your computer? NOBODY PUT YOUR HANDS UP! YOU DON'T KNOW." #chainreact2019
y'all, if you need someone to help run your conference, after watching this dude at #ChainReact2019, I can't imagine a cooler nerd to hire. Ken LaFrance at firstname.lastname@example.org
"Solid" (teehee) talk from @trevorbrindlejs
about envinfo & Solidarity!
Super interested in using it back at work esp for CICD purposes or for onboarding new people.
Hopefully it'll reduce the amount of times I say "works on my machine" 😂
's lighting talk at #ChainReact2019 was about Solidarity and envinfo... Definitely look those up at GitHub... I'm sure I'm gonna use them to enforce environment checking on all the projects I'm working on... https://t.co/iSGsNxJpxD
For those of you coming to check out a Beers at Beer gathering, I am here, chilling in the back room straight past the bar. Hope to see you at some point tonight! #ChainReact2019
Shout-out to @infinite_red
for hosting #ChainReact2019 and letting me volunteer my time for such a friendly and welcoming community. I had a blast and look forward to a great day 2! https://t.co/zV2COFXK8U
Awesome and informative conference! Looking forward to day two! #ChainReact2019
240,914 React Native repos, and only 2/3 of those are component libraries you should use in your next project! #ChainReact2019
Last talk of day 1 — the one and only @kelset, talking about open source maintenance. #ChainReact2019 https://t.co/97vTJsF9hM
Having a great time at #ChainReact2019 learning a lot. Having deep engineering discussions with a wide variety of people. One of the best conferences I have been to. https://t.co/oNDVFM7FCe
Day 1 is over, and it was one of the best we have ever had. So much good content, talks, food, shop talk, and much more.
Stay tuned — we have a photo recap thread coming later tonight!
. @kelset helps us learn that there are lots of ways to contribute to open source. Like closin' issues! #ChainReact2019
My kids love dev stickers. They load up their play kitchen with 'em! Loading up now 😁 #ChainReact2019
Yo #ChainReact2019, where y’all going out tonight? 🍻🍷
This ship metaphor keeps making me think of this. Don't overthink it. #opensourcelife #ChainReact2019 https://t.co/HlWG6lI77t
