I had a vivid nightmare that I couldn’t log into the VA electronic medical record system (cprs). The residency scars run deep. The last time I logged almost 10 years ago 😂

Rudd is a bitter man who conveniently overlooks Gillard/Greens setting up a world-class carbon price scheme The Greens correctly dismissing his CPRS which would have given billions to donors with no cuts in emissions for 25 years This pitiful attempt at relevance is just sad https://t.co/WyEoTDzmBF

@MrKRudd And thanks also to the Greens for backing the Gillard carbon price which was good legislation, as opposed to the CPRS which wasn't.

@kentparktweet @CaraMia200 @Zephyrdom @gedification I think it is instructive to remember the extraordinary and malevolent actions of the Fossil Fuel lobby in bringing down the CPRS. This is in no way discounting that the short lived carbon price wasn't vastly superior, it remains climate action's "poster child" (Michael E. Mann).

I know it's early days, but I'm feeling more positive about climate policy than I have since the CPRS was announced. #auspol

@Damo__73_ @MrKRudd I think there is genuinely an argument that the CPRS falling over took the wind out of the sails of the Rudd gov, and led to the instability that led to Rudd's ousting, and eventually to a decade of LNP madness.

For those playing at home, wondering why I argue with all those “but the CPRS” Labor supporters, yet support Labor now? It’s because Rudd was the problem. He always was.

@ThePretender133 Worked for the Labor party re: the CPRS. Press pack literally churned out documentaries, biographies on the Killing Season, only to forget everything within a decade

@AdamF_W @MarkTregonning I agree Greens shouldn't pass shit legislation. But there's sometimes you also have to recognize that for the last 13 years, the story has not been how bad Rudd's CPRS scheme was, it's been how the Greens didn't vote for it. Bandt got changes to Bill, and flagged future fights

@loosebuschange1 @MrKRudd No, the Greens couldn't have supported the CPRS in good faith when there was such ardent opposition to it by science and environment groups

@TheWallaceIsIn @StrewthQueen I am, personally, as a greens member, quite frustrated by the way this went down. We've spent the past 9 years justifying why voting down the CPRS was a good decision that led to better policy, and how important it is to use our leverage or risk it being ignored in the future.

@MrKRudd They aren’t called ‘the Green Party’ or ‘the greens political party’ either you don’t know that because you can’t be bothered learning or you’re being deliberately spiteful and obtuse. This really isn’t about you or your lousy failed CPRS https://t.co/EnhV52lPoB

@TheWallaceIsIn @StrewthQueen Worse than that, the CPRS locked in compensation to the biggest polluters. It set a ceiling on reduction targets. I don't think the Greens have ever been against incremental changes, but Rudd's policy was worse than nothing. (Hi Alex)

@murpharoo @kristin8X Katherine perhaps you weren't there at the time? Guy Pearse, Uni of Qld, The Age, May 2 2010: "The (CPRS) is in cryogenic freeze where it belongs... Rudd proposal guaranteed more harm than good.”

@murpharoo @kristin8X Editorial AFR 2/12/2009: Even before the latest round of handouts to the coal & coal fired power industries, the government's handpicked expert Ross Garnaut denounced it as the worst public policy process he'd seen. Any arguments for passing the CPRS... disappeared weeks ago"

@loosebuschange1 @Damo__73_ @MrKRudd No, oligarch media in collusion with Lib-Nat cynical lies enabled by Labor infighting & incompetence led to decade of inaction. Greens passed the ETS, nobody even remembers the CPRS except Labs attacking Greens.
