The European Parliament goes into recess for elections in mid-April. Yet it has to ratify any Withdrawal Agreement. This probably means that any delay in Brexit leads to a new round of MEP elections in the UK - THREE YEARS after we voted to leave. That would be a total outrage.

The british branch parties at Holyrood do absolutely everything they can to deflect from Brexit. Why? Because they aren't here to govern, or even offer an alternative to the current Scottish Government. They are here to delay, if not prevent, Scotland returning to independence.

Delay Brexit if deal is rejected, Dominic Grieve tells Theresa May. Dominic Grieve deserves to be deselected, as with a few others, and be replaced by an MP who is prepared to honour the referendum and Conservative Party Manifesto commitment. https://t.co/ugmollx9dR

NEW from me — Why a delay to Brexit is looking increasingly likely: https://t.co/KSuTtvexzL Despite denials from the PM, ING's UK analyst thinks a delay looks increasingly likely and political betters at @smarkets are pricing just a 25% probability of the UK leaving by March 29.

@amlivemon So your view is: 12 month delay, freeze in Brexit process until new Tory leadership election, where Tory members finally get a say and elect a Brexiteer leader? That more than a third of party voted against her in confidence vote means a Brexiteer can get to membership.

Well played by opposing forces to May. Sliced away her support with no confidence vote, bill failures in parliament... now only option is a Brexit delay which will effectively end her PM position

Not true as long as both parls agree withdrawal agreement by 18th April when EU parl dissolves, Brexit Day can be moved to 1st July to give UK time to enact internal legislation and leave before new EU parl sits on 2nd July Delay to Brexit doesn't mean the UK will elect new MEPs https://t.co/n46YeLw9LM

Delay to Brexit as reported in The Standard fine as long as both parls ratify before EU parl dissolves on 18 April. The extension can only run until 1 July as the EU wants us out before the new EU parliament convenes on 2 July. Nothing to get too excited above but people will.
