A First Nations member of parliament should never be forced to swear alliance to the monarchy that was part of destroying a 60,000 year old culture. White people should shut up when it comes to what First Nations people can and can't make a stand for.

If we are to move forward as a nation, we need to get comfortable with the word "colonisation" and start to understand what that has meant for our First Nations people.

Prison violence must be seen in the context of ongoing colonization. ‘Australia’ continues to be built on genocide & dispossession of Aboriginal ppl. For First Nations women, even the very architecture of a prison perpetrates & perpetuates violence, given it occupies stolen land

80% of First Nations Inuit and Metis in Ontario live in urban centres. This includes 88 000 FNIM in Toronto and 41 000 on London ON. Yet there is almost no COVID 19 info. This study bridges that gap. https://t.co/gEUvsuhiHV

The @ulurustatement Voice proposal comes from ppl on the ground. Those who attended the dialogues were made up of 60% traditional owner groups, 20% First Nations community orgs & 20% key individuals. The “advocates” are ppl who continue to work to achieve the mandate set by mob.

@PierrePoilievre The only two things keeping us from a perfect freedom score are: Quebecs treatment of non-French speaker and Canada’s treatment of First Nations peoples. How are you going to address those?

@RusSprouts It's always left me baffled why any first nations person would take up with the right, considering they are so entrenched in a colonial born to rule mentality with a deeply hidden entrenched white Australia ethos at its core.

@therecentrural @Tara22220 @Warnpeace17 @Heresjo36803755 @604BBQ @JustinTrudeau The Indian Act is very limiting on First Nations. Pierre Trudeau wanted 2 get rid of it BUT make em like municipalities of 🇨🇦. FN want sovereignty, to be their own countries. To b able 2 form their own style of government & create their own laws & regulations. Its understandable

@guibeu33 @CarineK @overdramatique This gets even more heightened in Quebec because there's a large Haitian diaspora, First Nations and Inuit, so denying the colonial nature of the French empire, the colonizing of Quebec and slavery in Quebec is effectively erasing a lot of people who live here.
