@Jra4U Texas won it's Independence from Mexico in 1836. The original Geneva Convention, drafted in 1864, dealt with the treatment of wounded troops, not sleeping troops. If I remember correctly, Santa Anna took no prisoners, but yet Texians allowed him to live.

@ArmyRaider1983 @Jra4U Are you unaware of the Siesta Convention, the sister Convention of Geneva Convention?

@Jra4U Please quote the part of the Geneva Convention that requires an opposing force to be alert and ready. By the way, what year was the Geneva Convention? Hint: 1949.

@Jra4U US joined Geneva convention = 1882. TX revolution 1836–45. San Jacinto was after Santa Anna gave no quarter to captured soldiers & killed them by firing squad, Goliad Massacre. He was a ruthless dictator & committed atrocities. Alamo & Goliad alone proved him a bloody tyrant.

The Geneva Convention was signed 113 years after the Battle of San Jacinto. Maybe read up on the Geneva Convention before you use it as a defense. Hint: Surprise attacks not covered.

@MaxMedieval @SpookdBlog @PatPenn2 I’d say in addition to the above violations, I would add in complete violation of 1929, 1949 Geneva Convention on Biological Weapons and the 1972 addendum (BWC) Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention of 1972. Which was ratified in 1975 by 183 Countries.

@CanariesBlue @Jra4U Basically, the 1864 Geneva Convention created the Red Cross and signees agreed that it was a neutral party. It was replaced in 1929 with an improved version. Nothing about dastardly sneak attacks.

@Jra4U Geneva Convention has no rules dictating what time to attack or that attacks must be announced so the enemy can be prepared. And the Geneva Convention didn't exist back then.

Let’s say hypothetically all your peers used PowerPoint in their presentations and you, after years in DC, consider PowerPoint presentations a low key Geneva convention violation. Should you still cave and prepare a PowerPoint?

@DolioJ It’s funny how she mentions to Geneva convention. What’s even funnier is that she doesn’t realize that the citizens don’t have to abide by shit.

I see the ratio you got didn't deter you from continuing to make a fool of yourself. There was no "Geneva Convention" during that war. lol WTH? Why did the Mexican bigots slaughter Texains at Goliad? You slept and got your pay back, fool. That's how it works.

@AnnaDsays I was going to point out that the Geneva Convention (the first of which wasn't agreed to until 1864 and neither the US or Mexico were signatories) has absolutely nothing to do with the conduct of battle. But that would be bigoted I guess.

@Jra4U How obtuse can you actually be? You do know that there was no such thing as the Geneva Convention then? AND, I bet if you read the Convention it wouldn’t prohibit any attacks on the enemy while they were sleeping. So the whole “bigot” mantra is just for show.

@Jra4U Geneva Convention? Are you for real? You know that the Convention was a 20th century thing, right?

@Jra4U Geneva convention deals with how prisoners and civilians are treated. Santa Anna routinely killed prisoners and civilians with no provocation. The shouts of “Remember Goliad” from your book was one such massacre. Perhaps learn history, then make statements.

@MikeSav51408235 @Jra4U Asymmetry is the desired condition in warfare. It's not my job to awaken the enemy to shoot at me. My job is to have them submit to my will. I spent 22 yrs as military. We were CONSTANTLY trained on the Geneva Convention. 'Sleep' appears 2x. It refers to the treatment of POWs.

I suppose you & your IDF colleagues are not familiar with these.
