Gordon skipped most of the offseason but attended mandatory minicamp. Back in June, Gordon said "I don't know" when asked if he would report to training camp without a new deal. Chargers have solid depth at RB behind Gordon in Austin Ekeler, Justin Jackson and Detrez Newsome. https://t.co/KQk7GgPPpP
everybody saying they’re rushing to claim justin jackson, i’m just wondering why all of you fools have done your fantasy draft before training camp even started. you never do a draft until atleast week 3 of the pre season 🤦🏽♂️
Notable contracts expiring in 2019-20:
But a RB wants to get paid...
Buckle up ... Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson would form a formidable 1-2 punch if Gordon were to miss any time. https://t.co/1ymGTBgL8R
#Chargers backup running back Justin Jackson:
-Had 4 straight 1,000 yard rushing seasons in the Big 10
-Caught 122 passes in college
-Handled 19 touches in the biggest win of LAC’s season in 2018 against KC
-Above 70th percentile 40 + Agility score
No wing under RoyW has moved as well without the ball as Justin Jackson. It's one of the most valuable skills for a Carolina wing, since there are a bevy of pindowns and staggers to navigate in secondary and freelance. Here's a thread with a couple examples of Jackson's movement.
Justin Jackson was a four-year workhorse at Northwestern, and given a 19% chance to hit 200 PPR points within 3 years based on my RB model. Seventh-round pick.
I will be scooping him everywhere. https://t.co/qziFtyjwO6
ATTN #FantasyFootball Twitter:
Before everyone over-drafts Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson and makes their ADP jump a few rounds, realize this is a few weeks out of camp aka holdout-threat season.
My advice, RELAX!!! Melvin Gordon will be there once it counts https://t.co/6PFYO1bpiC
Thread on Justin Jackson's elite cutting/off-ball movement at UNC. Will be interesting to see how quickly Keeling and Pierce (and Leaky) can master some of this stuff; veteran wings Robinson and Platek are already pretty good/crafty in this area. https://t.co/C57t1Ee9ye
My write up from June on why I have been wanting Justin Jackson as my handcuff over Ekeler all off season. Gordon is the guy, but if the team plays hardball, Jackson could handle the load for the #Chargers https://t.co/bEvBZbESdC https://t.co/Rs3dm0UID0
Ppl sleeping on Justin Jackson like they were Keenan Allen until Floyd got hurt. Jackson vision & feet with elite jump cuts creates his own hole and freezes defenders. Watch that 2018 Steelers tape. Trade Gordon for O-lineman while he still has value.
I feel like that was partially on the coaching staff though. They REALLY used him quite a bit. Use Ekeler a bit more use Justin Jackson a bit more and don’t run Gordon until the wheels fall off. The Rams did the same thing with Gurly, just wore him down over the season.
If Melvin Gordon holds out into the preseason keep an eye on both Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson
Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson will be a nice duo in the Chargers backfield if the Melvin Gordon holdout lasts into the season or if he’s traded. https://t.co/wrBw0Y1WyO
So what your saying is as the Keenan Allen, Hunter Henry, Justin Jackson owner in Dynasty this is only good news for me! 😈
I have been a Justin Jackson truther since he was drafted. Kid was a stud for NU
So, both Ekeler and Justin Jackson were picked after the MGIII news this morning. #SFB9 #SolidSnake
Justin Jackson was already playing the Gordon roll when he was away during ota's. Will see what happens, still a long way to go before season.
I love Melv, but nigga sayin this like we ain’t got Ekeler and Justin Jackson killing shit right behind him https://t.co/drU0PmVjX6
Haha, Justin Jackson new leadback?! Let’s go!!!
We still have Ekeler and Justin Jackson but im not tryna lose Melvin 🤦🏾♂️
Melvin my guy but if he finna ask for Bell or Gurley money, let his ass walk ... Justin Jackson is a stud
In the three games both Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson played while Melvin Gordon was out last season, Ekeler out-touched Jackson 55 to 21. Realistically, those numbers will be a lot closer if the same circumstance occurs in 2019, but both guys would have meaningful value.
@CarlHunterson23 @ChargersLegion @Melvingordon25
That’s true, but Ekeler is a solid 3rd down back( reminds me of woodhead and sproles) and Justin Jackson can be a starter, but at this moment he is nowhere near the level Gordon is playing at.
July 11th. the heart of MLB season.Justin Jackson is trending, because Melvin Gordon.Fantasy football is more important than MLB @LouMerloni
Can I trade Justin Jackson from the league I have him and no Melvin to the one where I have Melvin but no Jackson? Pretty please?
Justin Jackson and Austin Ekeler should be fine ... our offensive line is good enough to the point that we don’t need a big elite running back
That’s because coach plays the whole bench...and think Justin Jackson’s gonna be great. Would have pissed me off if they traded him. And yes greatly improved...couldn’t hit a 3 year before last. Just saying...he shouldn’t be a starter...but great coming off the bench.
No, one is an elite defender who is great at executing a system. The other is a borderline rotation player who lost his minutes to Justin Jackson last year.
Total thought experiment here, but if this were to play out exactly like the Leveon situation but with much earlier clarity (assume we 100% know Gordon doesn’t play this year before our drafts), is Ekeler a 1st rd pick? Or does Justin Jackson muddy the situation?
In an interesting turn of events, I was targeting Austin Ekeler or Nyheim Hines with the 12.08.
With the MGIII news this morning, both Ekeler and Justin Jackson flew off the board.
Welcome Mr. Hines to the squad. https://t.co/shrGAct7bQ
Greatly improved? He went from unplayable to getting his minutes taken by Justin Jackson due to his lack of improvement.
So far I’m thinking Somolon is shipped for a second, Dwight is traded, Rabb and Marko are waived. If we keep Dwight, Plumlee could get the axe to keep Justin Jackson.
I dropped Tarik Cohen for Justin Jackson, make fun of me in this space
Let Melvin leave. We are fine with Justin Jackson and Austin Ekeler.
I'm sure they will run him into the ground. But should they ? Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson have played well when given touches. Gordon more talented of course then both guys. What type of deal you think MG could get on the open market ?
Si es tu RB2 no vas a sufrir tanto. Pero no hay que entrar en pánico. Falta mucho para saber realmente lo que sucederá.
En caso de ausencia de Gordon, preveo comité entre Eckeler y Justin Jackson.
Got offered a 2020 first for drake. I dont have a first round pick next year. Worth it? Have dalvin,Gurley, damien William's. Justin Jackson and cohen.
Hey Steve I agree but I think the Chargers should pay Gordon in this instance, the free agent options are not very attractive and I don’t think Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson will get the job done. Gordon picked the perfect time to make this request IMO.
Ekeler con Justin Jackson y traer a un agente libre como Ayaji o Collins. Gordon quiere cobrar top $ y siempre se lesiona. No lo vale
I don't think Ekeler would slide into Gordon's role. I think Justin Jackson would shoulder the load with Ekeler coming in on 3rd down.
Justin Jackson is trending and it’s not about Tar Heel Justin? Aight bro I’m finna head out
