what if... what if minnesota bought out Suter and Parise because they know they're not going to be able to bring Kaprizov back and they need to start rebuilding 👁️🤯🧠
suter and parise bought out. kaprizov is going back to the khl .. the wild are going thru it.
A few things to consider with the Parise/Suter buyout: 1) It allows the Wild to give Kaprizov a longer deal with more money later and 2) Both Parise and Suter had no trade clauses which meant they counted as protected in expansion draft. Now that's 2 more they can protect.
How much is Kirill Kaprizov about to get? #MNWild
Does this mean more money for Kaprizov/Fiala signings?
BG: "This does not mean more money for everybody and this and that. Nu uh." #mnwild
Tear apart a team that's been middling for years and can't get over the first round hump? You get Eichel, re-sign Kaprizov and immediately set yourself up to better contend for years. It's not like the Wild would be completely depleted of talent throughout the organization. https://t.co/YBtCkYcYgq
So the #MNWild have $26 million in cap space and people think that's to make a run at Eichel. I am laughing. It helps to look at what they have to do inhouse first. Plus $12 million in dead cap space next season. This was about protecting players in expansion and Kaprizov/Fiala.
Honestly, the joint Parise/Suter buyout might be the single most destructive move any NHL GM has made in the salary cap era.
Minnesota has completely obliterated its contention window with Kaprizov. It's a terrible shame.
to make cap space for kaprizov, fiala, boldy, rossi etc. Good move
Eichel for Rossi + Bouldy + 2021 1st and Buffalo eats 1 or 2 bad contracts from Minnesota to make it work? MN gets a superstar center without poaching any pieces from their playoff team and Eichel and Kaprizov tear the west to pieces. Buffalo gets 2 good pieces for the rebuild.
Foligno for sure. They may offer Kaprizov the patch as an added bonus for resigning. As superficial as it, being a captain always looks good on the resume. Otherwise Zucc would be my second choice.
Pretty funny you talk about Kaprizov like your gonna resign him but a couple of days ago they were reporting that talks went cold lol
A mí el movimiento de Eriksson Ek no me gustó demasiado, veremos a ver que pasa con Kaprizov pero no le van a dejar marchar. La baja de Parise creo que tiene mucho que ver con Matt Boldy.
Moose getting a letter for sure. I'm not sold on Ek getting one but it's a fair bet.
I think other options include Brodin, Hartman. Dumba and Kaprizov
And I think with the freed up space Eichel is always a fun possibility
Just think if Kaprizov would of came over after he was actually drafted, he could of been the missing piece when Parise and Suter were in there prime. #mnwild
I have no idea. Billy just said they've been in talks with Kaprizov's people. So it's just noise. Buffalo fans are struggling to cope with the fact their team is miserable and will be trading their best players.
Who do yalll think the white boy of the hockey season will be this year, I’m thinking Krill Kaprizov
Please ask how today's decision impacts the signing of kaprizov/fuiala given the cap hit 3 years from now?
@DS_yypo @RandomlyWild @MatthewColdy @ZBwildnation_HW
Highly unlikely that it would be enough to cover a super star contract for Eichel and top tier contracts for Kaprizov and Fiala. And if they have to move Fiala to get Eichel, what's the point of rolling a team that only has one good winger and probably only one potent line?
I hope your not right! I think it’s more so to sign Kaprizov and Fiala… and bringing up Menell, Boldy and Rossi next year
Ehhhh yes and no. Signing Kaprizov or getting Eichel takes $11m, and Fiala takes another $5m (likely more), leaving just $9m of space.
Rossi (very likely) won’t be on the roster this year, but Boldy + Addison (not high on him, at all) + Mennell are good calls.
Allows them to keep Dumba and clears enough cap room to re-sign Kaprizov and go get him a center.
I think it was also to appease Kaprizov who has asked them to go out and get him a better playmaking center. They now have some room to do that...for now.
