Katie Couric says she cut quotes from an interview with RBG in 2016 where the SCOTUS Justice said that kneeling during the National Anthem shows a "contempt for a government that has made it possible for their parents & grandparents to live a decent life."
Couric writes that she wanted to protect RBG and so she edited out RBG saying that those who kneel during the national anthem are showing 'contempt for a government that has made it possible for their parents and grandparents to live a decent life.'
It is one of the temptations of journalism to protect those you favor. Couric was urged not to do this by the former president of ABC News, himself a news anchor. It was the right advice. https://t.co/oFLMW1Qfmw
#KatieCouric is the epitome of Fake News.
Sadly, I know this from personal experience. I was injured in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom & medevaced to Walter Reed.
During my recovery, Katie Couric reached out to me to be on her show about PTSD.
Another reminder today, with the whole Katie Couric/RBG/taking a knee revelations, that Sonia Sotomayor is in fact the most liberal and progressive Supreme Court Justice of our era.
@matt_abstract_@sheabutterfemme@panafrikam It came out today that Katie Couric had a large section of that interview scrubbed because she basically said "black people need to be grateful that they get to live here instead of Africa"
Couric implicates @nytdavidbrooks: "Couric called a friend, David Brooks, a New York Times journalist, who advised her that Ginsburg probably didn't understand the question, even though she was still serving on the Supreme Court at the time." https://t.co/oM3nm6XUXy@MailOnline
Let’s see——a privileged, rich white woman protecting another privileged, rich white woman who thinks Black people should ‘stay in their place’ and thank white massa for being so good instead of protesting against white supremacy——not at all surprised. https://t.co/n0NoLO3dHH
Of course those of us awake KNOW this slanted media presentation goes on daily. @katiecouric Too little too late. You're a sham
