Assistant shocker: Gary Kubiak will not be Denver’s offensive coordinator, league sources tell ESPN.
After lengthy discussions, Denver and Kubiak had different ideas on staffing and offensive philosophies. Both sides going in different directions.
Elway: "Gary, I've known you for 25 years now. We won three Super Bowls together. You wouldn't lie to me would you?"
Kubiak: "Of course not, John. What's up?"
Elway: "Do you know Sean McVay?"
Kubiak: "Personally? No ..."
Elway : "You're fired." https://t.co/yrdALv11P4
Confirming Broncos and Gary Kubiak going separate ways. He will not be )-coordinator. Differences in philosophy and staffing. Also confirming Broncos hope to bring in Mike Munchak. I can report hope is Munchak as O-line coach, not O-coordinator. He does have family here. #9sports
Gary Kubiak wanted to bring in some of his familiar coaches and that was an assistant. In addition, the #Broncos wanted to move things forward on offense. Be innovative. All that went into it. https://t.co/heuRYnp5b4
From Up to the Minute: The #Broncos won't bring back Gary Kubiak as OC after all, but #Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak has been talking to them about coming to Denver. His granddaughter would be the eventual winner.
The winner in this? #Broncos Fangio. He made it known he wanted an offense that included college concepts. In talking with Kubiak, there was not sense offense would evolve. If he gets Munchak to coach OL and right playcaller, this is huge for Fangio. #Denver7
Wow...I wonder if this is somewhat due in part to Rick Dennison. There's some talk amongst coaches in t/ league that they're hearing Elway did not want Dennison & Kubiak did, per sources. That's what coaches r talking about. Wouldn't be surprised to hear denials or diff versions. https://t.co/cTaXJ23ALI
I have been traveling on a college visit with my son. But I was following the news and did some homework on the non Kubiak move. Gary wanted to do the same old things and Fangio didn’t. The end. I am beyond impressed. Vic Fangio just became my favorite coach. First round QB now!
So let me get this straight... broncos claim that Gary Kubiak wasn’t hired as OC cuz of a philosophical difference then request to interview a coach from the Shanahan coaching tree... something smells fishy. https://t.co/tYZNTZs5dI
(2) More on Kubiak: It's so Atlanta. Falcons will insist they're thrilled with Koetter but it's no secret Gary Kubiak was #1 candidate. Would Broncos have continued blocking him after he said no? Not likely. And for those who thought Kubes was a lock in Denver -- yeah, never mind
@dmac1043 I had great trepidation about this Kubiak retread scenario. I like old defensive geniuses ( Dick Labeau, Wade Phillips, Buddy) and young offensive coaches. Lets gooooooo! Old defensive coaches don’t go out of style.
@TroyRenck@BelfastBronco I've been open to/cautiously excited about Kubiak in that role, even as an OC. OK with it expecting that Fangio and Elway would round out the rest of the staff. I agree, Kube bringing the yesteryears with him is not the way. Kube + Modern Era= had me enthralled. Wanted to see it!
Total Organizational Chaos. RT @markschlereth: So let me get this straight... broncos claim that Gary Kubiak wasn’t hired as OC cuz of a philosophical difference then request to interview a coach from the Shanahan coaching tree... something smells fishy. https://t.co/6nWpNBVuUS

@AdamSchefter Like it's been said already, they blocked permission for Kubiak to be interviewed and then canned him. Karma! Not sure it all head coaching vacancies are filled but what if a team wanted Kubiak h now they're committed to another and what, hes just screwed cuz Elways a shitbag?
@1043TheFan@CecilLammey Happy @johnelway and Fangio are willing to make what had to be a hard decision on Kubiak in favor of what is best for the @Broncos We need more innovation on the offense and no way we wanted Dennison or Brian back.
