Manager Charlie Montoyo names Marcus Stroman the Opening Day starter. Early indications: Shoemaker, Sanchez, Borucki and Richard to follow. Could change. We’ll explain it all on today’s broadcast. #bluejays
Marcus Stroman will throw the first pitch of the season on Thursday, March 28 at 3:37 pm against the Detroit Tigers.
It’s his second opening day start, with the first coming in 2016 on the road in Tampa.
This would set up a potential #BlueJays rotation as follows (but again, nothing official).
Clay Buchholz doesn’t sound like he’ll be ready to start in time.
In case you’re into Grapefruit League numbers …
Aaron Sanchez: 8.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 7 K.
Marcus Stroman, who starts today: 8 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K.
Exactly what the #BlueJays were hoping for — and needed — from both this spring.
"He's been great, throwing strikes, he's healthy. He looks pretty good to me...the whole rotation is pitching well so that's good news for us."

Growing up I idolized Marcus Stroman. Seeing what a piece of shit he is hurts a lot. As unimaginable as it would've been for me to say this just a few months ago, the Jays need to get rid of him for whatever they can get.
