#BREAKING: The NHL says that after a review of audio and interviews with those involved in the Maple Leafs-Tampa Bay Lightning game Monday night, defenceman Morgan Rielly 'did not direct a homophobic slur at referee Brad Meier.'
anyways kyle dubas himself said the organization and morgan rielly himself didn’t feel victimized by the events of last night so all you people saying “you all owe morgan rielly a huge apology” can kindly shut the fuck up
Rielly returned to rink last night after finding out about the video & allegations; met with Dubas & they decided to let process play out
Morgan: "It was difficult at times to not make a statement, because how strongly I felt about it & the fact it is a very important issue"
Good: Morgan Rielly didn't utter a homophobic slur
Bad: My hearing, apparently
Ugly: there is still a huge portion of the fan base that was willing excuse and defend the use of a homophobic slur
Didn't know it was possible to be a bigger fan of Kyle Dubas or Morgan Rielly than I already was, but it happened today
Morgan Rielly: "There's lots of people that have very hard times & struggle with this & I think it's important that we support one another ... it's not just with sports that this is important, within our lives this happens every day & it's important we're sensitive to it ..."
