That's the kind of offensive possession that just drives #Gators fans nuts. Had what looked like numbers on the break, Lewis stops it up. Then Nembhard holds it till 8 seconds, gives to Johnson going nowhere and he fumbles it away for a turnover.
If Nembhard's gonna make 90 percent of his FTs and like 10 percent of his layups (only a slight exaggeration), he needs to lean into contact and get fouled on more of those drives -- antithetical to the usual idea of taking the clearest shot.
Gators look like they’ll survive despite 61 percent at line, Blackshear ejection and Nembhard leaving a dozen points on the rim with shots that spinned out.
I trust scottie Lewis driving more than nembhard
Final: Florida 70, Saint Joseph's 62.
Gators didn't let go of the rope late. Johnson's big double-double (22/12) and Nembhard doing slightly more good than bad help preserve the win.
See y'all tomorrow, @TheStateOfTheU
Also no threes since 3:07 mark of the first half, Nembhard missing with three fouls for a while. https://t.co/phDIhKvA84
Andrew Nembhard has not finished anything in the lane today. He's had four layups in the last ten minutes or so roll off of the rim.
I honestly can't believe how many good looks at layups that Andrew Nembhard has missed in just 5 games.
He's doing a great job of getting to the areas, they just won't go down.
Two possessions in a row deep into the shot block followed by a Nembhard shot that just won't go.
Its just really tough to watch Florida in the half court on offense. Its 4 guys standing around watching Andrew Nembhard dribble the ball!!
Nembhard can't get another layup to go. Daly can. Florida up just two.
Our offense would be so much better if Nembhard didn’t play like James Harden and stop with the ball 15 feet away from the 3 point line until there’s 10 seconds on the shot clock
will you ask Nembhard to start hittin those layups! He would be balling
Ah yes the old 4 guys stand still while nembhard dribbles out the shot clock and misses a 30 footer play call in crunch time
Bad turnover by the Hawks and Nembhard has two free throws to extend the lead.
Nembhard missed Omar on the toll there and settled for a brutally difficult layup. Gators lead down to 4.
Daly with 24.
There was no reason for Florida to go 5 minutes without scoring at the end of the game..the game plan was decent but nembhard was missing easy baskets at the ball and everyone was looking around. Nembrand has no lift when he drives but he still should make layups
Mike White making nembhard into Kasey hill 2.0
Andrew Nembhard is really bad at putting the ball in the basket.
Great drive by Nembhard but again layup spins out. Florida lead 2.
Nah. Kasey Hill could beat almost anybody off the dribble. If he got a step on you, you aren't a factor. Nembhard reminds me of Nick Calathes, a big PG who was slow, addicted to dribbling, and played smaller than his height.
It’s so odd. This team seems built to play in transition. Multiple ballhandlers with Nembhard and Mann, excellent athletes like Johnson and Lewis, and they just seem suited to that style. Odd that White seems committed to playing in the half court
Nembhard missed tons of easy baskets at the rim
This team has POTENTIAL if they let the offense flow through Johnson and Lewis at times. The slow pace with Nembhard has to go or it will be a LONG season.
This Florida team needs more veterans but they don't have them so it will be the nembhard, blackshear, and lewis show going forward
Florida beats St. Joseph’s 70-62. Keyontae Johnson led the Gators with 22 points and 12 rebounds, Andrew Nembhard had 16.
Super explosive but we continue to let Nembhard TRY to beat someone 1 on 1 when it’s not happening
Why the hell are centering the offense around Nembhard when hr can’t finish.
