Here's a question: why does the @NCAA
allow schools like Oral Roberts to compete when they have literal bans on LGBTQ students attending there?
The Razorbacks win a thriller against 15-seed Oral Roberts to advance to the Elite Eight @RazorbackMBB
“I guess you could say Oral Roberts really BLEW that one...”
Of course Oral Roberts blows it
made the Sweet 16! I applaud the school for believing, teaching, and standing with the Word of God. This infuriates those who deny and want to override what the Bible teaches. https://t.co/uLgAjKUxYG
Arkansas to the Elite Eight for the first time since 1995. Razorbacks win a CLASSIC over Oral Roberts. That game? EVERYTHING that the NCAA Tournament should be.
Shoutout to Max Abmas.
The Oral Roberts guard played EVERY MINUTE of EVERY GAME since the conference tournament started.
6 games. 245 minutes. Respect.
THE RAZORBACKS SURVIVE! 😱
(3) Arkansas outlasts (15) Oral Roberts 72-70 to advance to the #Elite8! #MarchMadness
Some are trying to get @OralRobertsU
banned from the NCAA because of their religious beliefs. In the cancel culture we’re living in, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. https://t.co/M1nkj9xAHQ
Oral Roberts: “We’re about to go to the Elite Eight!!!”
just breathed a sigh of relief that Oral Roberts lost and the controversy over their anti-LGBTQ ban will go away. It's not going away. We're going to keep talking about it. The NCAA needs to have a policy refusing schools who ban LGBTQ people.
Friendly FYI for those may not know: as #15 seed Oral Roberts continues its cinderella run in the tournament tonight, keep in mind the school bans "homosexual behavior" as part of its sexual misconduct policy and has expelled students for being LGBTQ.
Good question. Oral Roberts University was founded by a homophobic evangelical (who enriched himself raising money), and it continues to discriminate explicitly against LGBTQ people. #MarchMadness, indeed.
Oral Roberts lost because you didn’t send him enough money
Oral Roberts: "We’re going to the Elite 8!”
What a run by Oral Roberts:
• finished 4th in Summit League
• won conference tournament to make NCAA Tourney
• beat 2-seed Ohio State
• beat 7-seed Florida
• came up one shot short of becoming first 15-seed to advance to Elite 8
Wow, the last two @RazorbackMBB
freshmen to make a game-winning shot with less than 15 seconds left on the clock:
3/27/2021 - Devo Davis vs. Oral Roberts (3.1 left)
1/27/1996 - Kareem Reid vs. Oral Roberts (1.8 left) https://t.co/VOX7ouxbNT
Arkansas fans watching Oral Roberts last shot
Arkansas's win against Oral Roberts was their 10th double-digit comeback win this season.
Each of their last 5 wins have come after trailing by double-digits.
Here's where Oral Roberts expressly forbids "homosexual behavior" in its student code of conduct.
Interesting that @EricPMusselman
‘s kids have come back 10 times this yr from double digit deficits .The ex @IndianaMBB
Justin Smith was a difference maker on the offensive boards for @ArkRazorbacks
as he had 11 offensive rebs vs Oral Roberts . The Golden Eagles were so TOUGH ?
👑 Max Abmas, Oral Roberts (24.5 ppg) 👑
After a 25-point effort in the Sweet 16 clash with Arkansas, no active players are going to catch the sophomore sensation for the DI scoring crown.
The #SummitMBB Player of the Year did not disappoint in the NCAA Tournament (26.7 ppg)👏 https://t.co/D8btBhh84V
Max Abmas from WAY DOWNTOWN.
Oral Roberts came out shooting.
Make that a 12-point lead for the 15-seed Oral Roberts 👀
Oral Roberts fans in these final moments...
Jalen Tate vs. Oral Roberts tonight is the first player in @RazorbackMBB
history to get 22+ points, 4+ rebounds and 6+ assists in an #NCAATournament game.
Jalen Tate was terrific Saturday vs. Oral Roberts.
He scored a team-high 22 points, had 6 assists and hit all 4 of his shots in the final 5:01 of the game. Each bucket down the stretch gave the Razorbacks the lead, too. More: https://t.co/H4yG5CI3Be
men’s basketball had the awful advance-the-ball timeout rule, we would have been robbed of the genuine drama of #MaxAbmas trying to go court length for winner, and @RazorbackMBB
maybe robbed of a just result https://t.co/P5PH3KKzcQ
In 2 games against Oral Roberts this season, Justin Smith averaged 17 points and 15.5 rebounds — 10.5 offensive. Just absurd.
Oral Roberts couldn’t keep it down when it mattered the most.
