Just finished a conference call with #Quakes74 draft selection Siad Haji, and I've come away impressed. Very mature for a 19 year old, and has a hard-working, no-nonsense mindset that will fit in perfectly with San Jose.
VCU junior midfielder Siad Haji was selected 2nd overall by the San Jose Earthquakes in today’s MLS SuperDraft. Haji becomes the highest selected player for the Rams since Jason Johnson was picked 13th by the Houston Dynamo in 2013.
Number Two: Siad Haji (21)
Club: San Jose Earthquakes
Haji was amongst the best performers at this year’s MLS Combine.
He’s not the traditional wide player in that he’s fast and takes on defenders, but he provides tidy link-up play with teammates and knows how to finish.
Siad Haji goes No. 2 to the San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS SuperDraft, becoming the highest draft pick in VCU sports history.

Haji fell through the cracks but rose to No. 2 in MLS draft Siad Haji is a refugee from Kenya. He was never tipped for stardom. He played D-III soccer. Yet he was picked second overall in the MLS SuperDraft. https://t.co/yLgym0abdI #baseball #basketball #football
