The Avs have now lost in the second round of the playoffs for three-straight years.
Nathan MacKinnon: "I'm going into my ninth year next year and haven't won shit. I'm definitely motivated. It just sucks."
Third straight second-round exit for the Avs, who are so talented and so well-constructed with so many team-friendly contracts. Now you have to pay Makar and it gets harder.
A reminder of just how magical — and fortunate — Chicago was to squeeze three Cups out of that window.
I’m honestly not sure what you do about this. The Avs saw firsthand how good he can be in the playoffs last year. Was effective for the Leafs, too. But it’s the third damn time. https://t.co/G21Ai47rrC
When the Avs were up 2-0 in this series, I NEVER would have imagined this team losing four of five, let alone four straight.
Woulda bet my house on it.
I'm glad I did NOT bet my house on it.
What a kick to the coconuts!
Up 2-1 late in game three......wow
Nathan MacKinnon when asked if the Avs are gritty or defensive enough to win: "We were the best defensive team in the league by a lot of measures. ... Tonight I don't think they were more gritty than us, either. We have a lot of warriors in our dressing room."
For a third straight year, the Avs get bounced in the second round ... disappointing doesn't even begin to describe it
the avs are still the sexiest team in the league tho 😤
With the #Avs post season coming to an end, here are their pending UFAs:
The Avs were #3 in total goals allowed this season. They were #3 in 5v5 GA/60. They were #1 in 5v5 xGA/60, #1 in CA/60. They had the 4th best PK GA/60, and basically in a dead heat with 4th in PK xGA/60
Colorado was an elite defensive team. Don’t let the sycophants question it
fell behind 0-2 against the Avs, marking the 37th time a team went down 0-2 in a best-of-7 series against the Presidents' Trophy winner since the trophy was first awarded in 1985-86.
They are the only one of the 37 to come back and win the series in 6 games.
Sooo….the Avs AREN’T going to win the Cup? 🤯
They happened to play the most dangerous 5v5 offensive team in the league in the second round.
I know everyone was like, “oh the Avs are gonna roll everyone” but honestly that’s on us. VGK is elite. Sometimes them’s the breaks.
The NHL playoffs tend to teams who clutch and grab. The transition speed the Avs have doesn’t work when you’re being impeded all over the ice. Refs put their whistles away after the DeBoer comments. Changed everything.
I like the fact that so many people predict that Habs have no chance against either the Avs or the Knights.

The Avs are pulling a full on mid-2010s Blues and omg is it amazing
don't get much hockey coverage over here in Australia but just wanted to give my thanks to you and the @DNVR_Avalanche
team for keeping us up to date with all the Avs news. Just a disappointing way to finish off the year but proud of the boys over this season!!
The Vegas forecheck was the difference in this series. The Avs looked lost and scared down low and along the boards. That won't be the case with the Habs.
What about pace? The games in the US have looked next level compared to the Canadian division. Pumped for game 1 Monday.
Hockey kicks you in the balls, 1 team wins the cup and 30 lose. An incredible team and an incredible season is at an end for me, but what a ride
Would genuinely love to see Vegas win from here, they've found their groove and played four incredible games of hockey to beat the Avs
Not sure I can watch the rest of the playoffs at this point still gutted by the Avs loss. Could give two shits about the four remaining teams too. This sucks
i see jabbing and jabbing back but no reason why you two cant get along.
chalk it up to the Avs causing stress and doing weird things to peeps.
A little surprised they won 4 straight, sure. But the two teams finished tied for points in the regular season. The Avs only won the Presidents Trophy on tie breakers on the final day of the season. Vegas is every bit as good as Colorado and no one should be shocked https://t.co/1YTb6va9U7
Yeah anything can happen, hockey is weird like that. Vegas just has to play their game and throw pucks towards Price at all angles. And have to be as defensively sound as they were against the Avs
How bout the Avs with the biggest choke of 2021
@ChoiVGK @AikmanCMU @bldypnda
Im happy I haven’t looked a comments under some of the posts because the Avs fans I follow seem to know Vegas was a hard team to beat and that their top line needed to produce more and their bottom pair wasn’t great.
That was the Avs thing. (I mean.. Im still gonna order some on Monday just in case, but, thank goodness I was able to stop that pot of espresso before doing the super spicy chicken)
