a moment of looping silence for YTMND, which quietly shut down yesterday
i just learned that ytmnd is gone, which means one of my greatest creations is lost to time. except not really because i have recreated it here. how bizarre, bulbasaur
ytmnd is gone
abandonware sites are gone (and GOG didn't pick up anywhere near all of what was on them)
all those japanese geocities sites with obscure info about niche manga/games/anime are gone
but twitter will be here forever, like plastic in the ocean
ytmnd is now shut down
press F to pay respects to one of the old guard
YOU'RE THE ARCHIVE NOW, DOG: Archive Team took a full copy of You're The Man Now Dog (YTMND) last year - should be playable in Wayback Machine now or soonish. https://t.co/v24T96tOXy
Farewell, YTMND .com
You were the first site to make me literally cry on the floor with laughter due to Barrel Roll and Sonic Sez jokes.
You will be missed.
rip ytmnd and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest
(yes, that YTMND) has shut down after 18 years of operation.
RIP to one of the most important sites in the history of the internet's culture.
When Plastic Love is reinstated the same day YTMND finally stops working
I made "What is Half-Life?" on YTMND over 13 years ago. It was my most popular YTMND by far, managing over half a million views, and led to my interest in modding Half-Life: https://t.co/o6DIpySI5p
Good night, YTMND. May your fire spirits be summoned forever. #halflife #ytmnd
I feel like if you asked Zuckerberg to explain what YTMND was and/or why it was so good it would be like administering the Voight-Kampff test to a replicant https://t.co/x6B7fCk5uh
YTMND IS DEAD
POURING OUT A FUCKIN FORTY FOR THIS BITCH
It is an understatement to say that YTMND shaped my adolescence and made me into the miserable internet fiend that I am now. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. Either way, here we are. I'm sad to see it gone; feels like losing an old friend I've lost touch with.
So uh... YTMND is gone.
I remember browsing the site and loving them a lot. lol internet, NEDM, n*gga stole my bike, etc. Heck, it's been one of my influences for the nonsensical humor seen in my shitposts and YTPs.
Did a lot of YTMND's stuff age poorly? Absolutely.
Will it still remain an unforgettable cornerstone of internet humor?
Super bummed about YTMND closing its doors. This is the website that more or less invented memes, popularized animated GIFs and spawned 50% of my inside jokes with friends in high school.
Really sad to see it go. Legendary website.
Thank you Max Goldberg!
YTMND was the root point of the modern shitpost. All internet comedy derives from it in some way (good and bad), and I spent about 4 very formative years on it. It's a huge drag to see it disappear.
Me: “What? YTMND is trending? In 2019?”
Our Lady of Perpetual Modulation@gewt
oh! YTMND _didn’t_ permanently shut down!
The real world is terrible so I'll just be here fondly remembering ytmnd
With YTMND down, I just thought I'd take a moment to remember one of the best things to ever hit that site.
I miss a little when the internet was in a simpler, funny time
Where I can laugh at misheard music lyrics
and pay tribute to passed actors played to "You're the best, around"
It was a good run YTMND.
"By October 1st, 2004, the forums[at ytmnd], in Max Goldberg’s own words, had become the next ‘STORMFRONT, a stomping ground for SS men in training" 😂😂🤣🤣
Åh, minnena från den här siten, gänget jag spelade WoW med letade ivrigt runt på YTMND efter nya vrickade grejer att dela. Innan memes blev en grej. https://t.co/g2mY6Wa70d
Such a shame... I loved YTMND. For a long time, all the stuff from YTMND the soundtrack was pretty much the only music I listened to. RIP.
twitter pasó de ser microblogging a ser la parte más penca de ytmnd
Every micheal jackson joke on YTMND is classic. my favorite is where they edited home alone. Let me see if I can find it on the wayback machine.
